On Vice Presidential Candidates Posted by Emilio | 2008.09.28 @ 16:16 Today, I got a new video via email mocking Biden for stating that "FDR led when the stock market crashed back in 1929". You can watch the video here.
My history being a little rusty, I decided todo a little research on the statements that Biden made on that video and found that:
1) FDR proposed "the New Deal" when he came to power in 1933, after the 1929 stock market crash. FDR's plan led the country out of the depression.
2) The first working TV was created in 1928. TVs were commercially available in the 1930s (en.wikipedia.org).
3) FDR is known for his TV broadcasts about the New Deal (www.history.com)
So CBS and Fox News (along with several other media sources) are telling us that Biden is stupid for the because he said "when the stock market crashed" instead of "after the stock market crashed"? That Biden is full of crap because he used the word "when" instead of "after"?
How does that really compare to Palin's "I have international diplomatic and national security experience because you can see Russia from here in Alaska"?
