Posted by Emilio | 2008.09.24 @ 18:05 Today, in a heroic move, presidential candidate John McCain cancelled friday's Presidential Debate in order to "focus on the 'historic' crisis facing the U.S. economy" and invited Obama to do the same back in Washington, DC. (Source: cnn.com) Did I say heroic? Oh, wait... Apparently not, according to his attendance record in the Senate. Check this out: Does McCain have the worst attendance record in the U.S. Senate? The answer is Yes, with 64% missed votes. Obama has third place 45.5% missed votes. That's a whooping difference of roughly 20% attendance between the two. Again, heroic? I think not. It's likely an excuse to avoid the debate. What makes Friday so special that he MUST be at Congress instead of continuing the campaign and avoid the senate as he has for most of his office term? Over the past couple of weekends, I've gotten into arguments with my family regarding the upcoming elections and the running candidates. The discussion got heated with denial in defending McCain and got to the point of painting Obama as a communist. This infuriated me. Now, I'm definitely NOT pro-Obama. As a person who consider himself republican-leaning -that is, until Bush came to power-. I've been one of those floating independents because I do not relate to the Democratic party, either. However, I think it's pretty safe to say Obama is far stretch from communism. What I want to convey is not that Obama is better than McCain, because he has yet to prove himself. However, there are plenty of reasons NOT to vote for McCain. So many, it's scary. During the family discussion, I tried to explain first how much McCain was like Bush and failed for being unprepared with immediate sources. So, I've prepared a few sources: McCain is the most Bush-ist person I've ever read about... Except for that crazy idiotic bitch-turned-author called Ann Coulter John McCain voted with George Bush 95 percent of the time If that is not enough reason to think that McCain is just like Bush, here are some more... McCain's campaign is filled with lies...And even more flip-flops than Bush! Palin did just the same, back when she was running for office in Alaska... No wonder they make such a great team! Isn't is suspicious how McCain keeps her hidden? Could it be... No... It just could not be that there would be many more inconsistencies (Ahem lies) that would slip out... Even with the dire consequences that resulted in the mortgage/banking crisis we are living now because of these deregulations... Lies, cover-ups, more lies, more cover-ups, war, more lies, more war, more cover-ups. Did Bush really get us THAT accustomed and complacent about lies? How many more Enrons? How many more 'bailouts' of bankrupt corporations? How many more bailouts of corrupt corporate leaders? How many more "Wars on Whatever"? How much longer can our country take under the same doctrine?
